Oman Office Show wins backing of international professional bodies
Interior design associations support Oman Office Show

MUSCAT – Oman’s popular Office Show organized by Global Exhibitions & Conferences LLC (GEC) has been endorsed by two internationally renowned bodies representing professional interior designers.

The Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID) and the The Society of British and International Design (SBID) have extended their enthusiastic support for the 2014 edition of the Sultanate’s signature trade fair centring on the office environment. Their backing for the Office Show not only adds an international dimension to an otherwise national trade event, but also exemplifies the burgeoning appeal of this annual expo.

SBID is Britain’s standard-bearer organisation to the profession of interior design and the national organisation representative at the European Council of Interior Design and Architecture (ECIA). Its work is aimed at increasing the reputation and trade for design professionals by setting standards for education, competence, personal development and best practice.

Commenting on SBID’s support for Oman Office Show 2014, Ms. Lavinia Engleman, Marketing & Events Manager at SBID, said: "The Office Show provides us with the perfect platform to touch base with key members of the interior designer community in Oman. As a standards-driven body, SBID has a lot to offer the interior design industry in the Sultanate at this time of upbeat economic and real estate development."

The Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID), on the other hand, is a grouping of professional interior designers in the Gulf region. The only organization of its kind in the region, APID seeks to promote the highest professional ideals of interior design to client bodies, whether governmental or private sectors, to industry, to its membership, and to society.

Ms. Linda Merieau, Executive Director, APID, stated: "Part of our mission is to encourage professional interior designers from around the Gulf region, including the Sultanate of Oman, to join us in promoting best practice, defining standards, promoting excellence, and delivering quality while expressing creativity and passion. The Oman Office Show affords us the ideal opportunity to get our message across to the interior designer community in the Sultanate."

This year’s instalment of the Office Show which will be held at Oman International Exhibition Centre from 15 to 17 September 2014 is also supported by AHK German Industry and Commerce. Only the third in the series, the upcoming edition will showcase innovations, developments, trends and opportunities in interior design, décor and fit-outs for the modern office environment.

True to its reputation as an all-encompassing, one-stop arena for products and services catering to the office industry, the 2014 show will feature a wide array of national and international brands across all products and service segments. On display will be the latest product and service offerings from manufacturers of office automation equipment, interior designers, decorative merchandise, and the world of art and décor.

"The timing of Oman Office Show 2014 is indeed opportune. With billions of dollars being invested in new airports, shopping malls, integrated tourism complexes, hotels and resorts, housing schemes and office developments, exhibitors will have plenty to offer both B2B and retail customers. So we are expecting a record turnout in exhibitor participation and visitors," said C J Paul, Chief Executive Officer. GEC.
